About HDR Photography

High dynamic range (HDR) photography is a technique that uses a series of bracketed images to create a higher range of tones than is possible with a single digital photograph. Tone mapping software reduces the dynamic range of the iimage to represent realistic color and contrast.

Single image tone mapping (also known as pseudo-HDR) creates an HDR-like image from a single digital photograph.

Most of the images in the HDR gallery are true HDR images. A few of the images were tone mapped from a single image.
